Hi! My name is Urban Diva and I’m a wirehead!

I’ve always said The Wire was one of my favorite shows. The writers do an extraordinary job of creating characters that are multi-faceted. Sometimes its hard to remember that once the television goes off the characters don’t keep living.

I didn’t realize until last now though that I have an addiction. I’m as bad as one of the junkie’s looking for Bodie on the corner to cop their next hit. Not only do I watch the show religiously on Sunday but I wait up until HBO puts the following week’s episode on demand! See, I didn’t think I really had a problem.

I can quit anytime. And I have a support group that watches with me. Since I’m not alone its not a problem. Yea, that mindset went straight out the window when last night me & my fellow wireheads watched next week’s episode & needed more when it was over.

I see the addiction getting worse…much worse! There was a time when I could watch an episode and then wait for the following week for another. Then it got to the point where I NEEDED to stay up and watch the next episode as soon as it went on demand. My habit is getting more intense by the day! No longer am I satisfied with being only a week ahead. I want…no I NEED more wire!

And to make matters worst I know there are people out there (yea, I’m calling both of you out) that have the season in its entirety yet you’re holding out on me. (Diva’s sad face inserted here.) I thought we were friends. That’s just wrong. Its aight though because I’m not sure if I could handle The Wire overdose that would be if I had the entire season at my disposal.

I’m willing to take the chance though. Give it to me. Give it to me! Me & my fellow addicts are ready. We already planned it. We’ll just take the day off of work to watch the whole season. You can have the dvds back in 13 hours. We give you our wirehead word.

Phew! It felt good to get that out. Okay ladies & gents. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Look around. Learn, love & live life with the Diva.
